1. Instant Gratification
One of the immediate joys of word searches is the quick sense of accomplishment they offer. As soon as you spot a word and circle it, you experience a small victory. This instant gratification keeps you engaged and motivated to find more words within the puzzle. But it goes much further than that. Each Word Search is solvable be it a grid with only a few words to find or like Wonderword that use every letter in the grid. Obviously, we and our fans are partial to Wonderword, 54 years in the making!
2. Vocabulary
Each word search puzzle introduces you to a set of words or, in the case of Wonderword, words that are part of a theme. Each word is relevant to the title. Once, and only when each word is discovered, does the solution appear. Wonderword is comprised of a team that makes the puzzles so stimulating from theme decision, research, grid making, editing and production. Computers and AI are NEVER used.
3. Mental Stimulation
Word searches are excellent for keeping your mind sharp. As we say: A puzzle a day keeps that brain muscle working. We receive countless letters/emails from our players thanking us for so many things including recovery from a stroke. These emails humble us and make us strive to be the best there is.
4. Relaxation and Stress Relief
Every word search player will agree that these puzzles are relaxing and are the perfect way to begin or end every day. (or maybe both) Just sitting there with a mug of coffee in one hand and a pencil another gives an escape from everyday doldrums and the pressures of the world.
8. Socializing
Word searches can be a social activity. You can solve them alone, with a friend, or as part of a group. Sharing a puzzle with others can lead to friendly competition, collaboration, and lively discussions about words you’ve found. Husbands, wives, daughters, children, friends; no one is off limits.
