Our Mom Anna was born in a log house in the small village of Jaworzynka, Poland. At the age of 21 (she celebrated her birthday onboard the ship “Batory” crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Canada and suffered severe motion sickness for most of the ten day trip) she and our Dad emigrated from their home country to make a better life for their future family.
Without knowing the language or culture, our parents worked very hard and sacrificed a lot to provide a good life for us. They strongly encouraged us to pursue education as they did not have that opportunity in their youth and they knew it was the way for us to have brighter futures.
Our Mom has faced tragedy and difficulties in her life but has always shown gentle strength, resilience and her faith to get her through. She always has a positive outlook and is a great example of putting one foot in front of the other and to just keep going.
Although English is her second language she has a very good grasp of the language. She is an avid Wonderworder–doing the daily puzzle in the newspaper for many years and now doing many more puzzles a day from the books. She says it exercises her mind. It must work because she is pretty sharp at nearly 79 years old!
We love you Mom! Enjoy your special puzzle.
Congratulations Anna, you have been PUZZLED!
You are our Mother’s Day contest winner.
Your daughter, Gerry, entered our Mother’s Day contest and won this fabulous personalized puzzle all about you.
She sent us a word list that perfectly described an amazing mom. And her note to you is such a lovely tribute to a mom that we can tell has made a lot sacrifices in her life for her family. Mom’s like you are a true blessing and you should be so proud.
We were honored to create this puzzle for you especially because you are such an avid fan of Wonderword.
We hope you love your puzzle because its all about YOU!
Please enjoy Anna’s Puzzle
Congrats again,
David Ouellet and the Wonderword Team
